Kids, drop in with friends and whānau for a fun day packed with free activities, inspired by the Terracotta Warriors exhibition – make, play, and share!

  • Help decorate a larger-than-life dragon. Then roar through the museum in a dragon parade!
  • Imagine what the terracotta warriors looked like when they were freshly painted, 2,000 years ago. Colour in your own warrior and help assemble an army.
  • Put yourself in the shoes of a Chinese migrant making the difficult journey to New Zealand 150 years ago with Golden Threads, a choose-your-own-adventure game.
  • Would your guardian animal be real or mythical? Learn about the animals that can be found in the exhibition, and come up with your own characters.
  • Unearth the stories of ordinary and extraordinary objects. What do they tell us about how people lived long ago? Share your discoveries by sending a postcard to someone you care about.

This is a free event, located outside of the Terracotta Warriors: Guardians of Immortality exhibition space. All welcome! Please note that there is a fee for entrance to the exhibition.
