This National Services Te Paerangi workshop is delivered in collaboration with Te Uru Waitākere Contemporary Gallery for those working in cultural organisations wanting to learn more about tikanga Māori in museums and galleries.
This workshop will cover:
The responsibilities of museums and galleries to tangata whenua in regards to Te Tiriti o Waitangi
Contemporary Māori social structures and concepts and how they impact best practice in museums and galleries
Māori cultural customs and how they can be woven into collection services, processes, and public programmes.
This workshop will be facilitated by National Services Te Paerangi with the support of tangata whenua.
