As we celebrate Matariki mā Puanga and all that this time of year brings, take a deep dive into te ao Māori with our live kōrero series taking place across June.

The appearance of the Matariki cluster and the star Puanga during winter signals a time to reflect and remember, celebrate, and look ahead. Matariki is also the name of the whetū that represents health and wellbeing.

Join a range of experts each week as they explore the many facets of hauora through different perspectives, learning, and environments. Each kōrero will be themed to a particular aspect of hauora, with taonga from our collections selected by the guest speakers.

Kōrero 1: Te hauora o te wai – the importance of water, its sustenance and its wairua

Kōrero 2: Te hauora o te kai – exploring parakore and kai sovereignty

Kōrero 3: Te hauora o te hinengaro – tīpuna practices that support mental wellbeing

Speakers to be announced.
