Entry to Te Papa is NZ$35 for international visitors aged 16 years and older. Your ticket is valid for 48 hours, so you can return the next day at no extra cost.
International visitors under 16 years of age enter free.
Museum entry tickets can be purchased at the ticket desk on Level 2 in the museum, or online.

Your NZ$35 entry includes access to our permanent exhibitions and galleries. Most visitors spend 2+ hours exploring our collections, and many stay longer. Special paid exhibitions and experiences, parking, guided tours, StoryPlace, and paid events require separate tickets.

Entry to the museum remains free for all New Zealanders and people living in Aotearoa New Zealand – as it always will be. This includes visitors from Niue, Cook Islands, Tokelau, and New Zealanders living overseas. It also includes those living in Aotearoa New Zealand on a visa that allows you to study, work, or live in New Zealand.
Charges will still apply to paid exhibitions and experiences.
