Ngati Toa Rangatira is proud to announce the opening of Ka Mate – The Exhibition at Te Papa as part of the Real NZ Festival.

Ka Mate – The Exhibition is an informative and interactive experience using cutting edge camera technology to teach the actions of the haka! Virtual Ngati Toa Rangatira haka instructors will teach participants the actions of the haka leading to a powerful performance.

Read and listen to the stories and interviews from the likes of All Black great Buck Shelford, Piri Weepu or historian Malcolm Mulholland and more. Ka Mate – The Exhibition take a look at the origins of Ka Mate on the shores of Lake Rotoaira to the rugby field and how this haka is now a New Zealand icon.

Ka Mate – The Exhibition is a touring exhibition and is a collaboration between Ngati Toa Rangatira and Story Inc.

Ka Mate – The Exhibition will open to the public at Te Papa on Thursday 8 September at 10am.
