Taikura Kapa Haka is an annual festival bringing together kaumātua from across the motu in celebration of the rich mātauranga and pūkenga held in our apārangi tūnohunohu.

Taikura Kapa Haka is a treasured annual gathering of over 700 kaumātua from across the motu, during the time of Matariki.
Taikura brings together regional, marae-based elders from as far north as Ngāti Wai to as far south as Ngāi Tahu/Waitaha. Each year, our kaumātua share traditional waiata, haka, and kōrero tuku iho in their 20-minute performances over the weekend’s festivities.
