Watch: Taikura Kapa Haka 2026

Taikura Kapa Haka is a treasured annual gathering of over 700 kaumātua from across the motu, during the time of Matariki.

Taikura brings together regional, marae-based elders from as far north as Ngāti Wai to as far south as Ngāi Tahu/Waitaha. Each year, our kaumātua share traditional waiata, haka, and kōrero tuku iho in their 20-minute performances over the weekend’s festivities.
