About Patricia Grace

Patricia Grace is the author of seven novels, five short story collections, and several children’s books. She has written two non-fiction books, including her recent memoirs, and collaborated with others on works of non-fiction and mythology.

Throughout her career she has received multiple awards including the Children’s Picture Book of the Year Award for Te Kuia me te Pūngāwerewere in 1982.

Patricia lives on her ancestral land in close proximity to her home marae at Hongoeka Bay, Plimmerton. She is of Ngati Toa, Te Ati Awa, and Raukawa iwi.

About Tānemahuta Gray

Currently the Kahukura / Kaiarataki Toi | CEO & Artistic Director of Taki Rua Productions, Tānemahuta Gray has 27 years professional experience as an event producer, theatre director, and choreographer of over 30 events, festivals, and productions.

Over the past five years Taki Rua has established a permanent Māori performing arts hub in Wellington, Te Haukāinga, that has been home to several Māori and Pacific arts organisations and freelance artists. Taki Rua will shortly be touring the 28th year of its legacy work, Te Reo Māori Season, to hundreds of kura and thousands of tamariki and rangatahi nationwide.

Over the past five years Taki Rua has been nominated for 19 Wellington Theatre Awards – Ngā Whakarākei o Whātaitai and won 11 of the accolades.
