One of only 14 LEGO Certified Professionals globally, Ryan McNaught (aka Brickman) brings the world’s most iconic landmarks made exclusively from LEGO bricks to Te Papa.
Ryan and his team spent a jaw-dropping 5,000 hours building the 50 LEGO masterpieces on display including the Taj Mahal, Michelangelo’s Statue of David, Great Wall of China, Empire State Building (complete with King Kong), Leaning Tower of Pisa, and Arc de Triomphe.
But it’s not just about looking – there will be plenty of hands-on opportunities to pick up some bricks and get building yourself as well as a range of activities for young and old.
Keep an eye out for our changing programme of activities and events for children and adults to enjoy over this two-month festival of LEGO activities.
Free entry for Wellington City residents – Wed 14 Feb
As part of Wellington City Free Day, if you’re a Wellington City resident or ratepayer, you can get free entry to Brickman: Wonders of the World LEGO exhibition in acknowledgement of Wellington City Council’s support for Te Papa.
Wed 14 Feb is also our 20th anniversary so we'll be open until 9pm, with last admittance to the LEGO exhibition at 8pm.
To get your free ticket, bring proof of your Wellington City address (such as a Wellington City rates invoice, or a utility bill with your home address) to the Level 4 ticket desk.
Tickets are allocated at 30-minute intervals and there is a limit of 200 people in the exhibition at any one time. We’re expecting this to be very popular so availability is on a first come, first served basis.
Please note, this free entry offer is not available to Hutt or Porirua residents as it is only available to those living in the Wellington City Council area.
