Read about self-service lockers, parents’ rooms, lost property, Wi-Fi, and Discovery Centres.
We provide lockers for you to use for your coats, bags, and other small items while visiting the museum. The lockers are located on your right as soon as you enter the main entrance.

Please note our largest locker size is 97cm deep x 43cm wide x 86cm high.
If you fail to reclaim your stored item(s) by the end of the day, Te Papa may change the storage location and continue to store the item(s) at the 24 hour rate of NZ$15 until collected.
You can park your bike, scooter or skateboard at our racks – near our main entrance. We loan out padlocks for scooters and skateboards free of charge. Speak to a Host in the Entrance Foyer when you arrive.

Level 5: Beside the Art Studio in Toi Art.
Our parents’ rooms have nappy-changing facilities, breast-feeding chairs, and sinks. You can also find nappy-changing facilities in the women’s toilets by Te Marae, Level 4.

For free internet access throughout the museum, sign in to ‘Te-Papa-Free-Wi-Fi’ using your device.
Te Papa’s two Discovery Centres have interactive games and books, and can accommodate large groups of accompanied children. Discovery Centres cannot be booked.
